About Me

I have created this blog to allow myself to share with the world the most greatest experiences, memories, stories, everyday life happenings and of course tons of pictures. I am an ordinary girl but with not so ordinary route. I have been born and grew up in the Eastern Russia where I was sent away from by my mom (no, really I agreed to it) and currently living my happy life in the USA. Oh no, it was not so happy at first. Why? Because I had to figure it all out on my own, being a foreigner, but it all turned out ok with the help of the great people I met throughout my life. I have big plans for the future, exciting activities, lots of travels and tons of pictures for it all.

The stories about how my life is going now here, how almost everyday something happens that makes me remember my roots and my life back in Russia, why and how I ended up in the cold Alaska at 18 years old, and about the best people I have met and continue meeting will be shared here on these digital pages.

Myself and my husband working towards a simple minimalistic lifestyle. We both been vegan for sometime and still learning how to adjsut to this new lifestyle.

I will share our passion for travel, food, wine, personal finance, animals and people. I will use this blog to put my thoughts in writing and I hope it will be fun and entertaining. Welcome to the Going back to My Roots project!

  1. Yana, I’m happy to have found your blog! I’m surprised I don’t know you better- the Russian community in Alaska isn’t that big! And yes, Chiang Mai is beautiful! Thank you for reading 🙂

    1. Sofiya, I am glad I found you too ( thanks to your mom’s FB post ;)); let’s keep in touch and please post more on Thailand – I will be very happy to read and see all the pics.
